Description

American Traveler is hiring an Ultrasound Technologist for an evening shift contract position requiring ARDMS registration and at least 1 year of sonography experience.

Details

  • Hospital-based ultrasound/sonography unit
  • 4x10 hour evening shifts per week
  • Uses Epic for charting

Requirements

  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in the applicable sonography specialty
  • ARDMS registration with successful completion of one registry beyond physics (OB, abdominal, neuro, breast, pediatric, or vascular); RDMS (BR) required per posting
  • Active BLS certification (AHA only) that does not expire prior to assignment start
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Active license required, if applicable
  • DOB and last 4 of SSN required for consideration
  • Proficiency in computer usage, image quality evaluation, sterile technique, and infection prevention
  • Ability to lift, bend, carry, push, and pull equipment including heavy items
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and assist with transporting or ambulating patients

Additional Information

  • Perform ultrasound examinations under physician direction to identify abnormalities supporting patient diagnosis
  • Responsibilities include patient identification and order verification, exam preparation, image review for quality and accuracy, and patient education
  • Maintains ARDMS and modality-specific competency across all clinical and technical functions
  • Assists and instructs students and other radiology techs in exam protocols, positioning, and equipment use
  • Practices appropriate infection control and sterile techniques
  • Keeps accurate records of patient information, procedures performed, and any adverse reactions
  • Former permanent staff must have been separated from any Intermountain facility for at least one year before being eligible for a travel assignment
