Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Telemetry position on a cardiac specialty unit, requiring night shift availability and cardiac medication familiarity.
Details
- Work in a 30-bed cardiac specialty unit (MS/Tele) in a hospital setting
- Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 18:45–07:15
- Patient ratio of 1:5, with the expectation of managing up to 6 patients
- Cardiac patient population requiring familiarity with diuretics, anticoagulants, inotropes, and rate-controlling medications
- Weekend requirement based on unit needs
- Floating required within scope of practice
- No on-call requirements
- Block scheduling considered on a case-by-case basis
- Epic EMR used; experience preferred but not required
Requirements
- Active RN license (Standard or Compact) required
- Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
- Minimum 1–2 years of RN experience required
- Med/Surg Telemetry or cardiac nursing experience strongly preferred
- Epic EMR experience preferred
Additional Information
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position
- Former permanent staff must have been separated from the facility for at least 1 year before being eligible to return as a travel nurse
- Travel pairs or groups will not be considered
- Navy scrubs required
- Up to 3 days of RTO may be approved; no RTO will be approved during the first week of orientation
- Two professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years are required for consideration
