Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced Cath Lab Tech for a 13-week travel assignment at an acute care, Level I Trauma, Magnet-designated teaching hospital, requiring Epic proficiency and hands-on experience with advanced structural heart and interventional procedures.
Details
- Adult patient population with a daily census of 15–20 across 6 state-of-the-art procedure rooms
- Common diagnoses include coronary artery disease, valve disorders, heart failure, and atrial septal defect/patent foramen ovale closures
- Advanced procedures include TAVR, left atrial appendage closures, Cardiomems, thrombectomy, mitral clips, renal denervation, and research protocols
- Equipment includes IABP, Impella, Penumbra, Rotapro, CSI, Shockwave, laser, OCT, and IVUS
- Epic EMR experience is required
- 4x10 hour day shifts, 7:30 AM – 6:00 PM, plus call obligations
- Each clinician is expected to take 7 on-call shifts and 5 late shifts per 6-week period; one full weekend of call (Fri–Sun) must be scheduled together, with remaining weekday call shifts (Mon–Thu) taken individually throughout the cycle
- One Saturday shift for elective cases is required per 6-week period
- Clinicians must be able to return to the hospital within 30 minutes when on call
- One holiday shift or call per 13-week contract, in rotation with staff
- Candidates must not reside within the facility's radius restriction to be eligible for this position
Requirements
- Minimum experience in diagnostic and interventional cardiac cath lab settings using fluoroscopy
- Proficiency with cardiac cath lab procedures including LHC, RHC, PCI, PTCA, stent placement, atherectomy, temp pacer, Impella, IABP, TAVR, Watchman, and Mitraclip
- Skills in sterile technique, EKG lead placement, dysrhythmia recognition and interpretation, hemodynamic monitoring, and rapid response protocols
- Current ACLS and BLS required
- ARRT(R) or CCI RCIS required; if ARRT(R), a Virginia state license is preferred — any active state license (in hand or pending) is accepted, as Virginia grants emergency authorization to travelers while their permanent VA license processes; CCI RCIS does not require a state license — license required if applicable
- Knowledge of isolation precautions, equipment handling, and supply management
- First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
- PDF copies of driver's license and Social Security card required for consideration
- Two professional references required for consideration
