Description

American Traveler is seeking a travel RN for a Pre-Op/ASU position in Wichita, KS, requiring at least 1 year of acute care Pre-Op experience and active BLS and ACLS certifications.

Details

• Pre-Op Holding and Ambulatory Surgery Unit (ASU) in a hospital setting
• Unit consists of 9 Pre-Op beds and 5 Phase 2 recovery beds
• Patient ratio of 1:3
• Procedures include pre-op preparation for surgery, endoscopy, cath lab, EP, and CT patients, as well as outpatient infusions, outpatient EKGs, nerve blocks, blood transfusions, and Phase 2 recoveries for urology, GYN, and same-day surgery patients
• Equipment used includes Pyxis, GE MACVU EKG machine, Doppler, patient scale, and bladder scanner
• EMR: Meditech (prior experience preferred)
• Day shift: 5:00 AM – 5:00 PM
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active RN license — KS license or Compact RN license required
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications (AHA or ARC accepted; must not expire within the first 30 days of the assignment start)
• Minimum 1 year of recent acute care Pre-Op RN hospital experience required
• Minimum 2 years of total clinical RN experience
• US SSN and date of birth required for consideration
• One professional reference required
• No employment gaps of 90 days or more within the past 12 months

Additional Information

• On-call is required with a 30-minute response time
• Prior Meditech experience is preferred
• Strong communication skills and a patient-experience-focused approach are ideal personality traits for this role
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility — local candidates are not eligible
• First-time travelers are not mentioned as eligible; minimum experience requirements apply
