Description
American Traveler is seeking a travel RN for a Pre-Op/ASU position in Wichita, KS, requiring at least 1 year of acute care Pre-Op experience and active BLS and ACLS certifications.
Details
- Pre-Op Holding and Ambulatory Surgery Unit (ASU) in a hospital setting
- Unit consists of 9 Pre-Op beds and 5 Phase 2 recovery beds
- Patient ratio of 1:3
- Procedures include pre-op preparation for surgery, endoscopy, cath lab, EP, and CT patients, as well as outpatient infusions, outpatient EKGs, nerve blocks, blood transfusions, and Phase 2 recoveries for urology, GYN, and same-day surgery patients
- Equipment used includes Pyxis, GE MACVU EKG machine, Doppler, patient scale, and bladder scanner
- EMR: Meditech (prior experience preferred)
- Day shift: 5:00 AM – 5:00 PM
- 13-week contract
Requirements
- Active RN license — KS license or Compact RN license required
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications (AHA or ARC accepted; must not expire within the first 30 days of the assignment start)
- Minimum 1 year of recent acute care Pre-Op RN hospital experience required
- Minimum 2 years of total clinical RN experience
- US SSN and date of birth required for consideration
- One professional reference required
- No employment gaps of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
Additional Information
- On-call is required with a 30-minute response time
- Prior Meditech experience is preferred
- Strong communication skills and a patient-experience-focused approach are ideal personality traits for this role
- Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility — local candidates are not eligible
- First-time travelers are not mentioned as eligible; minimum experience requirements apply
