Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg PCU night shift position at a critical access hospital in Vermont, requiring at least 5 years of experience and the ability to perform charge nurse duties.

Details

• Critical access hospital setting with 25 beds
• Combined Med/Surg, PCU, and telemetry unit
• Night shift schedule: 7p–7a
• Every other weekend rotation required
• Floating to other units required based on staffing needs

Requirements

• Active VT RN license or compact RN license (must be obtained upon acceptance)
• Current certifications: BLS/BCLS and ACLS
• Minimum 5 years of RN experience required
• Critical access hospital, PCU, and/or telemetry experience required
• Ability to work independently and perform charge nurse duties
• Personal transportation strongly recommended due to limited public transit in the area

Additional Information

• Candidate must be comfortable working independently and taking on charge nurse responsibilities as needed
• Attendance at department quarterly education sessions is required
• Located in Newport, VT — a small town on the Canadian border in the Northeast Kingdom region, known for outdoor recreation including hiking, skiing, fishing, and snowmobiling
• 13-week contract
