Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Pediatrics Float Pool position in Oklahoma City, OK, requiring Level 1 Trauma experience and the ability to float across multiple pediatric specialty units on night shifts.

Details

  • Float Pool position within a pediatric hospital setting
  • Floating includes a 34-bed PICU, 25-bed CICU, 112-bed NICU (feeder/grower low-acuity only), and acute care units including surgical, behavioral health, med specialty (GI, neuro, respiratory), hem/onc, step-down, and cardiac peds
  • Night shift, 12-hour shifts, 3 days per week (36 hours/week)
  • Weekends and holidays required
  • Serves as first line for skills across float units
  • Experience with trach, high-flow oxygen, and infusion required for float responsibilities

Requirements

  • Active OK RN license or current multistate compact (eNLC) RN license required
  • Current BLS and PALS certifications from the American Heart Association required
  • Minimum 1 year of RN experience required
  • Level 1 Trauma experience required
  • Experience with tracheostomy care, high-flow oxygen, and IV infusions required
  • Ability to float across all children's acute care units required
  • Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited program required; BSN preferred
  • Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible

Additional Information

  • Provides nursing care to pediatric patients with health conditions ranging from simple to complex
  • Responsibilities include medication administration, IV infusion management, physiological monitoring, patient/family education, and care coordination
  • Delegates tasks to support staff and coordinates with interdisciplinary team members
  • NICU float assignments are limited to feeder/grower, low-acuity patients only — traditional NICU assignments are not expected
  • Candidates who have previously worked at this facility must have a 6-month separation period after 26 weeks (one extension) before being eligible for a new contract
  • BSN is preferred but not required
