Description

American Traveler is hiring a Cardiac Cath Lab Technologist with ARRT certification and current KY registration to support adult and geriatric cardiac catheterization procedures.

Details

• Work in a Cardiac Cath Lab setting performing adult and geriatric cardiac catheterization procedures
• Serve in multiple roles including computer operator, scrub assistant, second circulator, and recovery technician
• 5x8 day shift schedule, Monday through Friday, 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM
• On-call requirement as part of the call rotation

Requirements

• Associate's Degree from an accredited school of Radiologic Technology required
• Current registration in the state of Kentucky required (license required if applicable)
• Current BLS, ACLS, and ARRT certification required
• Completion of a Basic Arrhythmia Course required
• One year of invasive vascular experience preferred
• Ability to work effectively with adult and geriatric cardiac patient populations

Additional Information

• Assist circulating RN with patient assessment and care implementation during cardiac catheterization procedures
• Recognize drugs and lab values that may contraindicate a Cath procedure and relay information to appropriate personnel
• Document patient demographics and procedural information, monitor hemodynamic data, and analyze hemodynamic waveforms
• Set up equipment and provide first-line assistance to physicians during procedures while maintaining sterile technique
• Properly dispose of biohazardous materials and contaminated equipment
• Calculate valve areas and shunts as part of procedural support
• Assist physicians and RNs in managing emergency situations, including coordinating emergency transfers per facility policy
• Assist with medication access and administration on and off the sterile field, ensuring proper labeling
• Demonstrate proficiency in Cath Lab code response per policy
• Monitor and assess radiation safety in accordance with established guidelines
