Description
American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for an Emergency Center position requiring 5+ years of experience, MEDITECH proficiency, and TNCC certification.
Details
- Acute care Emergency Center (ER) in a hospital setting
- Patient population spans pediatrics to geriatrics, including trauma, CVA, orthopedic, and some neuro cases; burns are not treated at this facility
- Approximately 180–200 patient visits per day
- Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:4
- Facility is a CVA center and receives trauma patients, with selective transfer of neuro trauma and orthopedic cases
- 6-bed behavioral/psychiatric lockdown area staffed by dedicated psych personnel
- Ventilated patients are held in the ER until admission; 24/7 respiratory therapy dedicated to the ER
- Charge nurses, nurse aides, and paramedics (5–6 per shift) are available on the unit; security and patient safety sitters are also present
- Central monitoring tech available; in-department pharmacy coverage 11 hours/day with on-campus 24/7 support
- Nurses are responsible for their own lab draws and IV starts
- EMR: MEDITECH 6.15 (experience required)
- 12-hour night shifts, 7p–7a
- Every other weekend required
- Every other holiday required
- 17-week contract
Requirements
- Active GA RN license or compact RN license currently in hand
- Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, NIHSS (or ACLS), and CPI
- Minimum 5 years of RN experience required
- At least 1 prior travel assignment required
- MEDITECH experience required
- Driver's license required for consideration
Additional Information
- Floor-specific orientation consists of 2 shifts and must be completed within the first week of the assignment
- Caribbean Blue scrubs are required
- Candidates must reside more than 75 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position
- Candidates who have been employed by this facility within the last 12 months are not eligible
- Any requested time off must be disclosed prior to the start of the assignment to be honored
- BSN is not required for this position
