Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an Emergency Center position requiring 5+ years of ED experience, MEDITECH proficiency, and TNCC certification.

Details

  • Acute care hospital Emergency Center (ER) setting
  • Patient population spans pediatrics to geriatrics, including trauma, CVA, neuro, and orthopedic cases; facility is a CVA center
  • Approximate volume of 180–200 patient visits per day
  • Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:4
  • Includes a 6-bed behavioral health lockdown area staffed by psych
  • Vented patients are held in the ER until admitted; 24/7 respiratory therapy is dedicated to the ER
  • Nurses are responsible for their own lab draws and IV starts
  • In-department pharmacy coverage 11 hours per day with on-campus pharmacy available 24/7
  • Support staff includes 5–6 nurse aides/paramedics per shift, security, and safety sitters
  • Central monitoring tech available for telemetry/monitoring needs
  • Evening shift, 12-hour shifts from 1p–1a
  • Every other weekend required
  • Every other holiday required
  • Charting system: MEDITECH 6.15 (experience required)

Requirements

  • Active GA or Compact RN license required
  • Minimum 5 years of ED/ER nursing experience required
  • At least 1 prior travel assignment required
  • Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, NIHSS (or ASLS), and CPI
  • MEDITECH EMR experience required
  • Driver's license must be provided for consideration
  • Candidates must reside more than 75 miles from the facility to be eligible
  • Candidates who have been employed by the facility within the last 12 months are not eligible

Additional Information

  • Orientation consists of 2 shifts and must be completed during the first week of the assignment
  • Caribbean Blue scrubs required
  • Charge nurse coverage is available on the unit
  • RTO requests are honored only if included at the time of initial assignment confirmation
  • Automatic lunch deductions apply
