Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med Specialty Step Down position in Oklahoma City, OK, requiring at least one year of Med/Surg or Step Down experience and an active OK or compact RN license.

Details

• Work setting is a hospital Med Specialty Step Down unit
• Patient population includes a variety of patients with health problems ranging from simple to complex
• Med/Surg or Step Down (SD) experience is required; ICU experience is preferred
• Night shift, 12-hour shifts, 3 days per week (36 hours per week)
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active RN license issued by the Oklahoma State Board of Nursing or a current multistate compact RN license (eNLC) required
• Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) required — AHA certifications only accepted
• Minimum of 1 year of RN experience required
• Med/Surg or Step Down experience required
• Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited program required; BSN preferred
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible
• Full date of birth (DOB) and full SSN required for consideration

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include administering medications, initiating and monitoring IV infusions and blood products, obtaining and monitoring physiological data, assisting physicians, and coordinating patient care from admission through discharge
• Delegates tasks to support staff and collaborates with interdisciplinary team members
• Candidates who have previously worked at this facility must have a 6-month separation period after completing 26 weeks (one contract plus one extension) before being eligible for another contract
• Compliance deadlines are strictly enforced — candidates should be prepared to begin onboarding (drug screens, background checks, and medical requirements) immediately upon offer acceptance
