Description
American Traveler is seeking a Physical Therapist with at least 1 year of acute care experience for a hospital-based travel assignment in Apple Valley, CA, requiring CA PT licensure and Epic proficiency.
Details
- Acute care hospital setting with 212 staffed beds
- Schedule is Tuesday through Saturday, 9:00 AM – 5:30 PM (5x8 shifts)
- Patient population includes geriatric, orthopedic, post-stroke, cardiac (CHF, CABG, MI, COPD), and surgical cases
- Clinical focus areas include ER, ICU, med-surg, and orthopedics
- Procedures and skills include gait training, therapeutic exercise (AROM/AAROM/PROM), transfers, assistive device training, pain assessment, vital signs, and discharge planning
- Equipment used includes standard walkers, gait belts, crutches, hospital beds, and supplemental O2
- Charting via Epic (experience required)
- Free parking on-site
- Travelers are expected to float between all facilities within the state; refusal to float may result in assignment termination
Requirements
- Minimum 1 year of acute care physical therapy experience required
- Active CA PT license required (license required if applicable)
- Current BLS certification required
- Epic EMR experience required
- Experience with orthopedic, cardiac, neurological, and geriatric patient populations preferred
- Proficiency in gait training, therapeutic exercise, patient/family education, and home exercise program development
- Ability to perform lifting and transfers as required by patient care needs
- Minimum 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years in a comparable specialty/setting required for consideration
- SSN and DOB required for consideration
Additional Information
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Local candidates are accepted; candidates living within 50 miles of the facility may be subject to a different pay rate
- Former permanent staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a traveler and must reside more than 50 miles from the facility
- All requested time off must be submitted at the time of application; RTO requests made after submission or offer may be denied
- Block scheduling may be considered at manager's discretion
- Scrub color for PT staff not specified; RN staff wear navy blue
