Description
American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for an Operating Room position at a large, fully-accredited hospital in Overland Park, KS, requiring a minimum of 2 years of OR experience and a KS or compact RN license.
Details
- Work in the Operating Room (Perioperative unit) of a 343-bed acute care hospital
- Broad surgical case mix including abdominal, cardiovascular, colorectal, dental, ENT, GI, gynecological, joint replacement, maternal-fetal, neurosurgery, ophthalmology, oral/maxillofacial, orthopedic/sports medicine, pediatrics, plastic and reconstructive, robotics, spine, thoracic, trauma, urological, and vascular procedures
- 1:1 patient ratio
- Charting via Meditech
- Night shift schedule: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM, Sunday/Monday/Tuesday
- Set schedule with no floating required
- Hospital-laundered scrubs provided by the department
Requirements
- Active KS or compact RN license required
- Minimum 2 years of recent OR/perioperative nursing experience required
- Current BLS certification (AHA or ARC accepted; must not expire within the first 30 days of the assignment start)
- US SSN and date of birth required for consideration
- One professional reference required (two required for candidates from Florida or Missouri)
- No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
- Surgical/procedural experience preferred but not required

- The facility is Johnson County's only American College of Surgeons-verified trauma center, equipped to treat life-threatening injuries 24/7
- The hospital holds numerous accreditations including JCAHO Gold Seal of Approval, Primary Stroke Center Advanced Certification, Chest Pain accreditation, Blue Distinction Center designations for knee/hip replacement and maternity care, NAPBC accreditation, and Commission on Cancer Accreditation
- Collaborative, team-based culture with staff ranging from new graduates to 30+ year veterans
- Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility — local candidates are not eligible
