Description
American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with critical care skills for a night shift position at an acute care hospital, with first-time travelers welcome to apply.
Details
- Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 19:00–07:00
- Every other weekend required
- No on-call requirements
- Floating within the hospital and to a sister facility as needed, within scope of practice
Requirements
- Active RRT credential required; CRT not accepted
- Minimum 2 years of respiratory therapy experience
- Critical care skills required, including intubation, airway management, and arterial line insertion
- Active professional licensure required, if applicable
- Copies of relevant certifications required for consideration
Additional Information
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Local candidates are accepted
- Travelers who have previously worked at any facility in this health system must have been away for a full year before returning as a traveler
- RTO is capped at 7 days and may not be requested during the first week of the assignment
- If one or two major holidays fall within the assignment period, the traveler is expected to work all of them; if three major holidays fall within the assignment period, the traveler is expected to work two
- Major holidays include: Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Christmas Day, and New Year's Eve/New Year's Day
- Two supervisory references (manager level or above; charge nurse references not accepted) are strongly preferred
- No schedule change requests or alternate shift arrangements are permitted; the posted shift is firm
