Description

American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with critical care skills for a night shift position at an acute care hospital, with first-time travelers welcome to apply.

Details

• Acute care hospital setting in the RRT/Respiratory Neuro Diagnostics unit
• Critical care skills are essential, including intubation, airway management, and arterial line insertion
• Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 19:00–07:00
• Every other weekend required
• No on-call requirements
• Floating within hospital scope of practice and to a sister facility as needed
• Local candidates are accepted

Requirements

• RRT credential required — CRT will not be accepted
• Minimum 2 years of respiratory therapy experience required
• Proficiency in intubation, airway management, and arterial line insertion
• Active professional licensure required at time of consideration, if applicable
• Copies of all relevant certifications required for consideration

Additional Information

• First-time travelers are eligible to apply for this position
• Candidates undergo a clinical review process to assess fit prior to manager consideration
• Travelers must be available to work major holidays that fall within their assignment period; if one or two major holidays occur during the assignment, no holiday RTO will be approved; if three occur, one holiday RTO request may be reviewed
• Major holidays include: Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Christmas Day, and New Year's Eve/New Year's Day
• RTO is capped at 7 days for the assignment; RTO cannot be requested during the first week
• No schedule change requests or alternate shift arrangements are permitted — the posted night shift is firm
• Travelers who have previously worked at this health system must have been away from all system facilities for a minimum of 1 full year before returning as a traveler
• Full compliance with onboarding requirements is necessary to start on time; delays may result in a two-week pushback due to a bi-weekly orientation schedule
