Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Med/Surg Telemetry (Oncology) position requiring a minimum of 2 years of RN experience, Epic proficiency, and an OH or Compact RN license.

Details

• Inpatient Med/Surg Oncology unit within a cancer hospital and research center
• Patient population includes oncology patients requiring continuous cardiac monitoring during chemotherapy, soft tissue malignancy patients receiving diagnostic services and symptom management, and patients with disease-related comorbidities
• Heavy emphasis on infection prevention protocols and fall prevention
• Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:4
• Rotating 12-hour day/night shifts (7:00–19:30 days / 19:00–7:30 nights); shift assignments are reviewed every 4-week scheduling period based on staffing needs
• Special equipment includes GE B450 telemetry monitors, bladder scanner, Alaris pumps, and Stryker beds
• Epic EMR — experience required
• Floating required to units of equivalent or lower acuity

Requirements

• Active OH or Compact RN license required
• Current BLS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Proficiency in dysrhythmia interpretation, port access, arterial line management, blood product administration, central line care/management, PICC line management, IV insertion, chest tube insertion/removal assistance, high-flow nasal cannula (HFNC), and ABG interpretation
• 2 professional references required: at least 1 must be from a Manager, Director, or formal leadership role (e.g., Supervisor); a Charge RN is acceptable as the second reference — no coworker references accepted
• Ohio fingerprinting required; candidates must complete this process promptly after accepting the position

Additional Information

• Oncology nursing experience is preferred but not required
• Previous travel nursing experience is preferred
• Local candidates are accepted
• Former facility employees are eligible for a travel assignment after a 6-month separation from the facility
• Requested time off (RTO) must be submitted at the time of consideration and is limited to 7 days or fewer for the contract duration
