Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced OR RN for a 13-week travel assignment at an acute care hospital, requiring a minimum of 2 years of OR experience and an active SC or compact RN license.
Details
- Work setting is an acute care hospital with 75 staffed beds
- Assignment is in the Operating Room department
- Patient ratio is 1:1
- Schedule is 4x10-hour day shifts, 6:30 AM – 5:00 PM
- On-call is required: 1 day per week, one late shift per week, and one weekend every 5–6 weeks
- Travelers may be required to float between Downtown, Northeast, and Kershaw campuses based on census and staffing needs
- Charting is performed in Epic
- Scrubs are provided by the facility
- Free parking is available with a pass distributed at pickup
Requirements
- Active SC RN license or multi-state/compact RN license required; candidates with a pending SC license may be considered but must have proof of application and cannot begin until the license is active
- Required certifications: BLS (AHA only)
- Preferred certifications: ACLS and PALS (AHA only)
- Minimum 2 years of OR RN experience required
- A radiation badge is required and must be provided by the agency
- SSN and Driver's License required for consideration
- Two professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years required for consideration
Additional Information
- First-time travelers are not accepted for this position
- Candidates who have previously worked as permanent staff or PRN at any MUSC location must have been separated from the MUSC system for at least 1 year before being eligible to work as a traveler
- All requested time off (RTO) must be disclosed upfront; approval is based on facility needs
- Completion of online orientation modules is required prior to the assignment start date
- Candidates living within 60 miles of the facility are considered local; non-local candidates are given priority
- Local candidates are accepted for this position
- Travelers should be aware that during hurricane season (June–November), all employees and contractors may be assigned to emergency response teams; peak months are August and September
