Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Cardiac Telemetry position requiring at least 2 years of surgical telemetry experience, including open heart surgery and vascular care, with night shift availability.

Details

• Surgical Cardiac Telemetry unit in a hospital setting
• Patient population includes MI/rule-out MI, primary arrhythmias, pre/post open-heart surgery, vascular surgery, coronary artery disease, heart failure, pre/post cath lab with or without interventions, and stroke patients with cardiac involvement
• Specialized structural heart support cases including VAD and TAVR
• Nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:4, with potential for 1:5 at midnight
• Procedures and equipment include: breathing treatments, chest tube setup/care, CPAP/BiPAP, trach care, blood/blood products administration, cardioversion/defibrillation, epicardial pacer management, LVAD, open heart 24–28 hours post-op, and telemetry/dysrhythmia interpretation and management
• Epic EMR experience required
• Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 19:00–07:30
• Every other weekend required
• Floating to like units is required; travelers must be flexible

Requirements

• Active WA state RN license or valid compact RN license required
• Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
• Minimum 2 years of telemetry experience required
• Surgical telemetry experience required, including open heart surgery and vascular care
• Proficiency in groin/radial band management and IV skills required
• VAD and TAVR experience preferred
• Epic EMR experience required
• Minimum of 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years in a comparable specialty/setting
• SSN and DOB required for consideration

Additional Information

• First-time travelers are not accepted for this position
• Former permanent staff of this facility must have been separated for at least 3 months before being eligible; candidates must also reside more than 50 miles from the facility
• Former permanent staff of other Providence facilities (non-Swedish) are eligible after a 3-month separation
• All travelers may be expected to float between facilities within the state; refusal to float may result in assignment termination
• Minimal RTO is strongly preferred for this position; extensive time-off requests may impact eligibility
