Description
American Traveler is hiring a Nuclear Medicine Technologist (NMT/PET Tech) for a 13-week assignment at an acute care Magnet hospital in Mission Viejo, CA, primarily working in PET with at least 6 months of PET experience required.
Details
- Primary work setting is a PET unit within a 426-bed acute care Magnet-designated hospital
- May float to Nuclear Medicine as needed, and travelers are expected to float between all facilities within the state
- Day shift with variable start times between 7:00 AM and 9:00 AM
- Schedule is 4x10 or 5x8 hour shifts depending on unit preference
- Weekend coverage may exceed every other weekend to accommodate unit needs
- Post-shift and rotating weekend call required; actual call expectations based on experience level and determined at interview
- Epic EMR (required); Siemens equipment experience highly preferred
Requirements
- ARRT (N) or NMTCB certification required, along with an active CA license (license required if applicable)
- Current BLS required
- Minimum of 1 year of Nuclear Medicine experience required
- Minimum of 6 months of PET experience required — hard stop, no exceptions
- First-time travelers considered with 2+ years of experience; candidates with less experience may be screened on a case-by-case basis
- Epic EMR experience required
- Must be open to post-shift and rotating weekend call
- SSN and DOB required for consideration
- Minimum of 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years in a comparable specialty/setting required for consideration
Additional Information
- PET certification is not required, but candidates must hold the required Nuclear Medicine certification and have hands-on PET experience
- Candidates must not hold a PET certification as a substitute for required NM certification — NM cert plus PET experience is the requirement
- Former permanent staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a traveler and must reside more than 50 miles from the facility
- Candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility are subject to a local pay rate — contact your recruiter for details
- All RTO must be submitted upfront; scheduling requests related to outside employment will not be considered
- Refusal to float between facilities within the state may result in assignment termination
- Free parking available on-site
