Description

American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist with 2+ years of acute care experience — including Level 3 NICU skills — for a day shift travel assignment at a hospital in Lafayette, IN.

Details

• Respiratory Care department within a 160-bed unit serving ICU/CCU, Med/Surg, ER, and NICU patient populations
• Level 3 NICU capabilities required to work in this unit proficiently
• Equipment includes PB and Drager V500 ventilators, Aerogen nebulizers, V60 BiPAP, HHFNC, Hamilton C-Transport, oscillator, Jet ventilator, nitric oxide, and Bubble CPAP
• EMR: Epic
• Day shift, 6:00 AM – 6:30 PM, 36-hour weekly schedule
• Every other weekend required (Saturday and Sunday)
• No on-call requirements
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential required
• Minimum 2 years of recent acute care experience in Med/Surg, ER, and ICU settings
• Level 3 NICU experience required
• Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS, and NRP
• Proficiency with BiPAP, mechanical ventilators, and Heated High Flow Nasal Cannula (HHFNC)
• Experience with Epic EMR
• No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
• Active license required, if applicable
• US SSN required

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include assisting with intubations, bedside bronchoscopies, ventilator management, and proficient EMR charting
• Must be capable of managing high patient loads and high-acuity cases independently
• EKG testing is required as part of the evaluation process; candidates have 2 attempts, with the option to reapply after 30 days if not passed
• Scrub color: Pewter gray
• Staffed by a long-tenured, cohesive team with motivated, progressive physicians
• State-of-the-art facility in a prime location
• Candidates living within 50 miles of the facility are eligible at a reduced rate
• Self-motivated candidates who are willing to assist with heavier workloads and higher-acuity patients are the best fit for this role
