Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Telemetry/Step-Down position requiring a minimum of telemetry experience, ACLS, and availability for night shifts with every-other-weekend rotation.
Details
- Night shift schedule: 12-hour shifts, 18:45–07:15
- Progressive Care Unit (PCU) / Step-Down setting
- Telemetry patient population with cardiac and vasoactive drip management
- Telemetry experience required at minimum, with exposure to drips such as Amiodarone, Cardizem, Heparin, and Nitroglycerin
- Progressive Care experience preferred, including drips such as Levophed, Nicardipine, Dopamine, Milrinone, Neosynephrine, and Dobutamine
- EMR: Altera Sunrise (formerly Allscripts); prior experience not required — noted to be very similar to Cerner
- Every other weekend required
- No on-call responsibilities
- Some holiday coverage required
- Travelers are first to float, based on skill set
Requirements
- Active MO RN license or Compact RN license currently in hand
- Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS required; TNCC required only for ICU-background candidates
- Minimum of telemetry nursing experience required; PCU/Step-Down experience strongly preferred
- ICU experience is a plus
- New graduates will not be considered for this position
- Two professional references required for consideration
Additional Information
- Orientation spans approximately 5 days: days 1–2 are system-wide orientation, days 3–4 are facility and clinical orientation, and day 5 covers computer training before transitioning to the unit
- Local and travel candidates are accepted at the same rate, with the exception of candidates near the Great Bend campus, who must reside outside a 60-mile radius
- This is a nicotine-free facility
