Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced ICU RN for a Cardiovascular Unit (CVU) position in Petoskey, MI, requiring at least 1 year of ICU experience and EKG experience.
Details
- Cardiovascular Unit (CVU) setting within a hospital environment, recognized as a Top 50 Heart Hospital in the U.S.
- Unit cares for over 4,000 cardiology patients annually, including procedures such as PTCA, stents, TAVR, MitraClip, and bi-ventricular pacemakers
- Approximately 300 open heart surgery patients (18–24 hours post-op) are managed on this unit annually
- Patient population also includes congestive heart failure and electrophysiology study cases
- Night shift, 12-hour shifts
- Every other weekend required
- On-call is a possibility
- Floating to similar units (e.g., Neuro, CVICU) is required
Requirements
- Active Michigan RN license required; LARA and Nursys verification required
- Current certifications required: BLS and ACLS
- Minimum 1 year of ICU experience required (float ICU experience does not qualify)
- EKG experience required
- Skills checklist completed within one year of application required for consideration
- Experience with vents, CRRT, and balloon pumps preferred
- Neuro, CVICU, or trauma experience preferred
Additional Information
- Provide clinical nursing care to cardiovascular patients using clinical judgment to assess and treat responses to actual or potential health conditions
- The CVU has received a Silver Level Beacon Award and was redesigned in 2017 by the AACN
- A strict 3-strike attendance policy is enforced — three instances of absence or arriving more than 20 minutes late to a scheduled shift will result in immediate termination; exceptions may be made for communicable illness or hospitalization with supporting documentation
- No more than 5 days of RTO may be requested for the duration of the contract
- Current full-time employees of McLaren are not eligible for contract hire within six months of their employment end date
- References are not required for consideration
