Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an ICU/CCU travel assignment in Bowling Green, KY, requiring at least 2 years of critical care experience and active BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke certifications.
Details
- 16-bed ICU/CCU unit within a main hospital building
- Patient ratio is typically 2:1, with occasional 3:1 ratios
- Unit support includes a monitor tech (MT); a patient care tech may be staffed depending on census
- Specialized equipment includes Impella, GE monitors, temporary pacemakers, EKOS, IABP, Arctic Sun, and hemodynamic monitoring
- EMR system is Meditech
- Day shift position: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
- 36 hours per week required
- Floating in rotation with core staff is required
- 13-week contract
Requirements
- Active KY or compact RN license required
- Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale — AHA or ARC accepted; no certifications may expire within the first 30 days of the assignment start
- PALS certification is also listed as required for this unit
- Minimum 2 years of recent ICU/CCU experience required
- Strong critical thinking skills and self-motivation required
- Candidates must not have any gaps in work history totaling 90 days or more within the past 12 months
- US Social Security Number and date of birth required for consideration
- One professional reference required
Additional Information
- Procedures performed on the unit include central line insertions and dialysis catheter insertions
- Scrubs are required in any color; denim, capris, and camouflage are not permitted
- Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility — local candidates are not eligible
- Scheduling flexibility and a collaborative, team-oriented work environment with a mix of experienced staff
