Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced OR RN with a minimum of 2 years of experience, Epic proficiency, and an active GA or compact RN license for a day shift travel assignment.
Details
- Inpatient Operating Room setting within a hospital environment
- Patient population includes adults through geriatrics
- Patient ratio of 1:1 with 8 beds and an average daily census of 12
- Day shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 6:45 AM – 7:15 PM
- Every other weekend required
- Floating within the facility and scope of practice as needed
- Epic (required) and Pyxis utilized on the unit; SBAR communication protocol followed
- Experience with inpatient L&D and PACU settings required
Requirements
- Active GA or compact RN license required
- Minimum 2 years of OR nursing experience required
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Epic EMR experience required
- Copies of all required certifications must be provided for consideration
- Two supervisory references (Manager level or above; charge nurse references not accepted) are highly preferred
Additional Information
- First-time travelers are not accepted for this position
- Scrubs are provided by the facility
- RTO is capped at 7 days; RTO cannot be requested during the first week of the assignment
- RTO blackout dates apply during Spring Break (April 4–12)
- If one or two major holidays fall within the assignment period, the traveler is expected to work all of them with no holiday RTO permitted; if three major holidays fall within the assignment period, the traveler must work two and may request one holiday off
- Major holidays include: Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Christmas Day, and New Year's Eve/New Year's Day
- Travelers must be away from all facilities within this health system for a full year before returning as a traveler
- No special scheduling requests, alternate shifts, or schedule modifications are permitted
- Local candidates are accepted at the same rate
- Candidates undergo a clinical review process prior to manager consideration
- Full compliance is required on time to avoid orientation delays
