Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele position at a short-term acute care hospital, requiring telemetry experience and ACLS, BLS, PALS, and NIHSS certifications.

Details

• Work in the Med/Surg Tele unit of a 78-bed short-term acute care hospital
• Patient population includes adults and pediatrics admitted to the med/surg unit
• Patient ratio of 1:5
• Schedule is 3x12-hour night shifts (6:00 PM – 6:30 AM)
• Minimum of 3 weekends required per 6-week period
• Possibility of being placed on call based on unit or hospital needs
• Floating to other units possible based on hospital needs
• Charting via Meditech

Requirements

• Active RN license in Indiana or a compact state license currently in hand
• Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience required
• Telemetry experience required
• Med/Surg experience preferred; ambulatory experience also preferred
• 2 professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years
• Full 7-year work history with all gaps explained

Additional Information

• PALS certification must be in hand prior to starting — it is required per facility policy for all med/surg RNs due to pediatric admissions on this unit
• Any time off requests must be submitted upfront; no more than 5 days of RTO will be approved for the contract
• If a shift is called off, the traveler will be expected to pick up a replacement shift
• Candidates who were directly employed by this facility within the past 12 months are not eligible without prior approval
• Any color scrubs are accepted; a professional appearance is expected

• Local candidates are accepted; candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility are considered local and subject to a pay rate differential
• All time off and scheduling requests must be disclosed at the time of initial consideration
