Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Medical-Surgical position at a Magnet-designated Level I Trauma teaching hospital, requiring a valid MO or compact RN license and at least 2 years of experience.

Details

• Works in a Medical-Surgical unit within a large, short-term acute care hospital (1,266 beds)
• Patient population includes those with diabetes, renal conditions, COPD, abdominal rule-outs, and non-active oncology cases; surgical patients are not cared for on this unit
• Patient ratio is 1:6
• Night shift: 4x12-hour shifts, 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
• Every other weekend required
• Floating within scope required to meet facility needs
• Block scheduling is not available
• Epic EMR used; experience required
• Candidates must reside at least 75 miles from the facility; local candidates are not accepted

Requirements

• Active MO RN license required at time of consideration; compact license accepted if MO is included
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Must pass a Relias EKG exam; interpretation and management of dysrhythmias required
• Med/Surg telemetry experience preferred
• Epic EMR experience required

Additional Information

• Magnet-designated, Level I Trauma Center and academic teaching hospital
• Navy blue scrubs required
• Parking passes are available for purchase on a monthly basis; night shift workers may park in employee lots at no charge
• RTO is limited to no more than 7 days per 13-week contract; no RTO during the first week of orientation
• Travelers may remain at BJC facilities for up to 18 months, after which a 3-month break in service is required
• Former permanent employees must wait 1 year before returning as a traveler
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
