Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Medical-Surgical position at a Magnet-designated Level I Trauma teaching hospital, requiring a valid MO or compact RN license and at least 2 years of experience.
Details
- Works in a Medical-Surgical unit within a large, short-term acute care hospital (1,266 beds)
- Patient population includes those with diabetes, renal conditions, COPD, abdominal rule-outs, and non-active oncology cases; surgical patients are not cared for on this unit
- Patient ratio is 1:6
- Night shift: 4x12-hour shifts, 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
- Every other weekend required
- Floating within scope required to meet facility needs
- Block scheduling is not available
- Epic EMR used; experience required
- Candidates must reside at least 75 miles from the facility; local candidates are not accepted
Requirements
- Active MO RN license required at time of consideration; compact license accepted if MO is included
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
- Must pass a Relias EKG exam; interpretation and management of dysrhythmias required
- Med/Surg telemetry experience preferred
- Epic EMR experience required
Additional Information
- Magnet-designated, Level I Trauma Center and academic teaching hospital
- Navy blue scrubs required
- Parking passes are available for purchase on a monthly basis; night shift workers may park in employee lots at no charge
- RTO is limited to no more than 7 days per 13-week contract; no RTO during the first week of orientation
- Travelers may remain at BJC facilities for up to 18 months, after which a 3-month break in service is required
- Former permanent employees must wait 1 year before returning as a traveler
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
