Description
American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a NICU position requiring 2+ years of Level III NICU experience and NRP certification, with night shifts and every other weekend availability.
Details
- Level IV NICU and Special Care Nursery (SCN) hospital setting
- 21-bed NICU with a 1:2 patient ratio; 16-bed SCN with a 1:3 or 1:4 patient ratio
- Night shift: 7pm–7:30am, 3x12-hour shifts per week
- Every other weekend (Saturday and Sunday) required, along with every other applicable holiday
- May float to Newborn Nursery (NBN), SCN, Pediatrics, and PICU for appropriate assignments
- Will not attend high-risk deliveries
- Charting is done in Epic
- Block scheduling is not available
Requirements
- Active NJ or Compact RN license required
- Current certifications required: BLS and NRP; PALS preferred
- Minimum 2 years of current Level III NICU experience required
- SSN and DOB required for consideration
- Two current professional references required
- Experience with specialized equipment preferred: jet ventilators, oscillators, ECMO, UAB, CoolCap/whole-body cooling, and transport
Additional Information
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Local candidates are accepted at the same rate
- Former RWJBH staff (full-time or PRN) must have been separated from the RWJBH health system for a minimum of 1 year before being eligible for a travel assignment
- Epic EMR experience is relevant to this role given its use for charting
