Description
American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with at least 1 year of Adult Critical Care, PICU, and NICU experience for a night shift position in a hospital setting in Florida.
Details
- Hospital-based respiratory therapy unit serving Adult Critical Care, PICU, and NICU patient populations
- Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 19:00–07:30
- Performs blood gas lab procedures and diagnostic testing
- Responsible for application and management of mechanical and non-invasive ventilation
- Assists with advanced procedures including intubations, bronchoscopy, and tracheostomy
- Local candidates within 60 miles of the facility are considered at a reduced rate
Requirements
- Current Florida RRT license required; license required if applicable
- Minimum 1 year of experience in Adult Critical Care, PICU, and NICU settings
- Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NRP
- Proficiency in blood gas analysis, quality control, and preventative maintenance on blood gas equipment
- Proficiency in mechanical and non-invasive ventilation management
- Must successfully complete a Florida AHCA Level 2 background screening, including fingerprint-based state and federal criminal history checks, abuse registry review, and screening for disqualifying offenses
- Must pass a Basic Arrhythmia/EKG assessment prior to starting (pass/fail)
- Proof of vaccination required; declinations are not accepted
Additional Information
- Serves as a respiratory care consultant to nursing, ancillary, and medical staff
- Provides recommendations for patient care plans and offers education and instruction to patients, families, staff, and physicians
- Ensures quality patient care in a safe and cost-effective manner in accordance with clinical practice guidelines
- Candidates who do not score 100% on the lethal rhythms section of the Basic Arrhythmia assessment will have 24 hours to retake a dysrhythmia exam and must achieve an overall Angoff score of 83% or higher, 100% on the lethal rhythm section, and 83% on all other sections
