Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced ED RN for a Level 1 Trauma Center position requiring at least 2 years of ED experience and prior travel nursing experience.
Details
- Fast-paced adult emergency department at a Level 1 trauma center, designated Stroke Center, and Primary PCI center for Acute MI patients
- Unit encompasses Triage, Trauma, Rapid Assessment Area, and Emergency Acute Care Area
- Day/evening 12-hour shifts with variable start times (7:00 AM–7:00 PM, 9:00 AM–9:00 PM, or 11:00 AM–11:00 PM)
- No block scheduling and no set schedule — shift times vary
- Epic EMR used; experience required
- 13-week contract
Requirements
- Active MD or Compact RN license required
- Minimum 2 years of ED experience in a Level 1 trauma center or academic hospital required
- Experience at a facility with 500+ beds required
- Minimum 1 year of travel nursing experience required
- Current certifications required: BLS and ACLS
- TNCC or ATCN preferred
- Epic EMR experience required
- Strong critical thinking skills with ability to function in a high-acuity, high-volume environment
- SSN and DOB required for consideration
- 1 professional reference required for consideration

- Responsibilities include emergency nursing care across triage, trauma, rapid assessment, and acute care areas
- Role demands skills in critical thinking, public health, and patient education given the highly varied patient population
- Local candidates are accepted at the same rate as travelers
