Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Cardiovascular Progressive Care Unit (PCU) position requiring a KY or compact RN license and night shift availability including weekends and holidays.

Details

• Hospital-based cardiovascular progressive care unit (PCU) setting in Louisville, KY
• Two-unit cardiovascular department consisting of the CVU (16 beds) and CVI (15 beds), providing intermediate care for cardiac surgery patients from pre-op through discharge
• Patient population includes cardiac surgery, pre/post-cardiac intervention (PTCA, cardioversion, generator implants, TAVR), and atypical chest pain patients requiring monitoring
• Night shift, 7p–7a, 12-hour shifts
• 36 hours per week
• Weekend and holiday coverage required per unit needs
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active, unrestricted KY RN license or compact RN license currently in hand
• Current BLS certification required
• ADN or ASN required; BSN preferred
• Date of birth (MM/DD) and last 4 digits of SSN required for consideration

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include comprehensive patient assessments, care planning, patient and family education, care coordination, and facilitating admission, transfer, and discharge processes
• Nurses delegate and oversee team members in patient care activities and monitor accuracy of delegated care
• Active participation in unit-based quality improvement activities, including patient satisfaction, fall prevention, pressure ulcer prevention, and CAUTI reduction
• Nursing practice is evidence-based and guided by hospital policies, regulatory standards, and professional guidelines
• Must be comfortable working in a fast-paced cardiovascular intermediate care environment
