Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for an IMC Med/Surg Telemetry position in San Marcos, TX, requiring at least 1 year of experience and active TX or compact RN licensure.

Details

• Night shift position, 7PM–7AM
• 13-week contract
• IMC Med/Surg unit in a hospital setting
• Intermediate care med/surgical patient population

Requirements

• Active RN license in TX or compact state required
• Current BLS certification required (AHA only)
• Current ACLS certification required (AHA only)
• Minimum 1 year of experience in a related nursing specialty
• BSN preferred
• US Social Security Number required for consideration
• 2 professional references required for consideration
• Active, unexpired copies of all certifications required for consideration

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include nursing assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation for assigned patients
• Administers medications and treatments per protocol and monitors for side effects and effectiveness
• Addresses complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families
• Provides education to patients, family members, and caregivers and identifies appropriate resources
• New hire orientation must be completed within the first 30 days; onboarding includes organizational and Med/Surg-specific competency validation with a designated preceptor
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for travel rates
