Description

American Traveler is hiring a Radiology Technologist (X-Ray) for a 13-week travel contract at a Level III Trauma acute care hospital, requiring ARRT(R) certification and experience in fluoroscopy and OR procedures.

Details

• Level III Trauma, acute care hospital with 286 staffed beds
• Radiology/X-Ray department serving adult and/or pediatric patient populations
• Procedures include general radiographic studies, fluoroscopy, OR, orthopedic, inpatient, outpatient, and ER coverage
• Floating within scope may be required to cover OR, Ortho, Fluoro, Inpatient, Outpatient, and ER
• Schedule is 3x12-hour day shifts, Saturday through Monday, 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM
• No on-call rotation required
• Epic EMR (experience preferred)
• Free parking on site

Requirements

• Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Radiology/X-Ray Technologist
• ARRT(R) and SCRQSA certifications required
• BLS and CPR (AHA only) required
• Fluoroscopy and OR experience required
• Radiation badge required — must be provided by the candidate's agency, as the facility does not supply radiation badges to travelers
• SC license required if applicable; candidates with a pending SC license may be considered, but must be active prior to starting
• SSN and Driver's License required for consideration
• 2 professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years required for consideration

Additional Information

• Performs radiographic procedures requiring sound knowledge of anatomical positioning, physiology, and a high degree of technical competency with minimal supervision
• Applies ionizing radiation for radiologic diagnosis across adult and/or pediatric patient populations
• Completion of orientation modules is required prior to the start of the assignment
• Teal top and black bottom scrubs required
• First-time travelers are accepted for this position
• Former permanent or PRN staff must have been separated from the facility system for at least 1 year before being eligible to return as a traveler
• Candidates living within 60 miles of the facility are considered local; local candidates are accepted on a case-by-case basis, with non-local candidates given priority
• All requested time off (RTO) must be submitted at the time of consideration; approval is based on facility needs
• Travelers should be aware that during hurricane season (June–November), all employees and contractors may be assigned to emergency response teams; peak activity months are August and September
