Description
American Traveler is seeking an Ultrasound Technologist specializing in Maternal Fetal Medicine with ARDMS OB/FE certification and a minimum of 2 years of high-risk OB experience for a clinic-based travel assignment.
Details
- Outpatient maternal-fetal medicine clinic setting specializing in high-risk obstetrics
- Patient population includes adolescents and adults with high-risk pregnancies
- Average daily caseload of 5–8 scans per day
- Common diagnoses include fetal echo, advanced maternal age (AMA), transvaginal cervical length (TVCL), growth scans, anatomy surveys, Level II ultrasounds, and biophysical profiles (BPP)
- Special procedures include amniocentesis and CVS
- Primary equipment is the GE Voluson E10; PACS experience preferred
- EMR systems include Epic and Viewpoint
- 5x8-hour day shifts, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
- No call, float, or weekend requirements
- Local candidates are accepted; candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility may be subject to a different pay rate
Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in high-risk OB, Maternal Fetal Medicine, and obstetrics
- ARDMS certification in OB with Fetal Echocardiography (FE) required
- License required if applicable
- Proficiency with fetal scanning including abdomen, abdominal circumference, bone lengths, cerebellum, ventricles, diaphragm, duodenal atresia/intussusception, fingers/toes, gender identification, and head and heart
- OB/GYN skills required: 1st–3rd trimester scanning, amniotic fluid index, fetal anatomical survey, fetal echo, inter/intra-orbital measurements, multiple pregnancy, nuchal translucency screening, placenta previa, and umbilical cord Doppler
- Experience with GE Voluson E10 required
- Two professional references from a manager or supervisor within the past 2 years required prior to start
Additional Information
- First-time travelers are accepted for this position
- Orientation is weekly and scheduled per clinic needs; travelers may begin on Wednesday, Thursday, or Friday of the first week and must be fully available with no other commitments during orientation week
- Missing any portion of orientation may result in a delayed or canceled start
- Pre-start online modules (approximately 4–5 hours for non-acute roles) are required and must also be completed annually
- Candidates must be available to work 2 out of 3 major holidays
- RTO is not permitted during the first week of the assignment due to orientation; up to 7 days of RTO may be approved provided it does not fall on a holiday
- Previous permanent, PRN, or employee pool staff of this health system must wait 12 months before being considered as a traveler; facility rehire approval is required
- Travel pairs are permitted provided each traveler has their own transportation and is comfortable with potentially different schedules
- Black scrubs required; scrubs are not provided
- Candidates interested in extending beyond 13 weeks are encouraged to indicate their preference
