Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) position at a cardiac-focused step-down unit in Clyde, NC, requiring at least 2 years of step-down or ICU experience and an active NC or compact RN license.

Details

• Work on the 4th floor Progressive Care Step-down Unit of a 154-bed, Joint Commission Accredited hospital located in Clyde, NC, approximately 20 miles from Asheville
• 22-bed cardiac specialty unit serving adult patients, including cardiac observation, post-cardiac cath lab patients, and cardioversion cases
• Patient ratio of 4:1
• Telemetry monitoring equipment used throughout the unit
• EMR: Paragon
• Day shift schedule: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
• Every other weekend required
• No on-call requirements
• Floating required
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active NC or compact RN license required
• Minimum 2 years of experience required
• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) minimum education required
• Step-down or ICU experience required
• Current AHA certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
• Social Security number required for consideration
• Date of birth required for consideration

Additional Information

• Candidate must reside more than 60 miles from the facility to qualify for the travel pay rate
• Candidates who have worked as permanent staff at any LifePoint facility within the last 12 months are not eligible
• Candidates who are currently employed full-time elsewhere are not eligible
• Scrub color: Navy; offensive tattoos and non-facility tops are not acceptable
• Orientation is held bi-weekly
• Team-oriented candidates with strong communication skills and flexibility are preferred
• The facility is located near the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, with easy access to Asheville, Pigeon Forge, Gatlinburg, Knoxville, and Greenville
