Description
American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Medical Telemetry (7B) Night Shift position at a Level 1 Trauma & Burn Center in Springfield, MO, requiring at least 1 year of inpatient telemetry experience and an active MO or compact RN license.
Details
- Medical 7B unit in an acute care hospital setting — a Level 1 Trauma & Burn Center and Level 2 Stroke Center
- 32-bed unit serving medical/med-tele patients, including those with developmental delays
- Night shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
- 13-week assignment
- Patient ratios vary: days 1:5–1:6, nights 1:6–1:7 (ratios not guaranteed)
- Equipment includes telemetry monitors, lift equipment, IV pumps, and tube feeding pumps
- EMR: Epic
- Floating required on a rotational basis
- Weekends required as needed by the facility
- No on-call requirements
Requirements
- Active RN license — must meet eligibility criteria for Missouri licensure or hold a current MO or compact RN license
- Current BLS certification from the AHA
- NIHSS certification required prior to start (may be considered without it if obtained before the assignment begins)
- Minimum 1 year of recent inpatient telemetry experience
- Experience and competence in drug titration required
- Valid U.S. Social Security Number required
- No employment gaps of 90 or more days within the past 12 months
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, lift, and turn patients with assistance; push, pull, and grip up to 50 lbs; pinch up to 15 lbs; kneel, crouch, and crawl minimally
Additional Information
- Responsibilities include direct patient care, assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation using the nursing process
- Coordinates patient care activities with ancillary departments to optimize patient outcomes
- Night shift orientation takes place on day shift — must be available for the entire orientation week
- Flu vaccination or a Mercy-approved exemption is required for assignments running November 1 through April 1; declinations are not accepted
- Black scrubs are required; no other scrub colors are acceptable
- Up to 5 days of RTO is allowed but must be made up during the assignment; RTO will not be approved during the first week of the assignment
- Only 1 holiday RTO request is permitted per assignment
- Candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility are eligible but subject to a reduced bill rate
- Candidates living within 50 miles are limited to 3 consecutive 13-week contracts before a 1-year separation or transfer outside the 50-mile radius is required
