Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Cardiovascular ICU (CVICU) position at a Level 3 trauma hospital in Hickory, NC, requiring at least 1.5 years of CVICU experience and proficiency with specialized cardiac equipment.
Details
- Night shift position, 7:00 PM to 7:15 AM
- 13-week contract
- 8-bed CVICU unit on the 2nd floor of a 355-bed Duke LifePoint hospital
- Adult and geriatric patient population with diagnoses including CABG, TAVR, STEMI, and carotid procedures
- Patient ratio of 2:1 with occasional 1:1 assignments
- Specialized equipment includes Impella, IABP, and CRRT
- EMR: Cerner
- Every other weekend required, or as needed to meet facility staffing needs
- No on-call responsibilities
- Floating per scheduled rotation
Requirements
- Active NC or compact RN license required
- AHA certifications required: BLS and ACLS; CCRN preferred
- Minimum 1.5 years of CVICU experience required
- Associate's degree in Nursing (ADN) or higher required
- Experience with Impella, IABP, and CRRT required
- SSN and date of birth required for consideration
- Candidates must reside more than 60 miles from the facility to qualify for travel rates
Additional Information
- Provides critical care nursing to adult and geriatric cardiovascular patients, including post-operative CABG, TAVR, STEMI, and carotid cases
- Strong critical thinking skills are essential for this role
- Scrubs should be any professional color
- Orientation is held twice monthly
- Candidates who have worked as permanent staff at any LifePoint facility within the last 12 months are not eligible
- Candidates who are employed full-time elsewhere are not eligible
- Local candidates residing within 60 miles of the facility are not eligible for this travel position
