Description
American Traveler is seeking a Respiratory Therapist with 5+ years of NICU/PICU experience at a Level 1 trauma facility for a 13-week inpatient NICU/PICU travel assignment in Boston, MA.
Details
- Inpatient NICU/PICU setting at a Level 1 trauma facility
- NICU and PICU patient population, including critically ill neonatal and pediatric patients
- Day shift, 12-hour shifts, 36 hours per week (7:00a–7:30p)
- Every other weekend rotation required
- Every other holiday rotation required
- Participation on Code Blue team
- Experience with lung protective ventilation strategies required
- Drager XL and V500 ventilators experience preferred
- Level III NICU experience preferred
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of recent NICU and PICU critical care experience
- Level 1 trauma facility experience required
- RRT certification required
- BLS required
- MA Respiratory Care license required (license required if applicable)
- NRP required
- NPS and/or ACCS preferred
- Familiarity with lung protective ventilation required
- Ability to make independent ventilator decisions based on patient assessment and laboratory results
- Permanent residence must be 30 or more miles from the facility
- 2 professional references required: at least one must be from a manager-level or above (not a supervisor), must include a performance evaluation; one must be within the last 12 months and the other within 3 years; references from other travelers are not accepted
Additional Information
- Provide respiratory therapy services to critically ill neonatal and pediatric patients in NICU and PICU settings
- Participate as a member of the Code Blue team
- Make independent ventilator management decisions based on patient assessments and lab results
- One reference from a prior travel or temporary assignment is preferred
