Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced travel RN for a Long Term Care (LTC) position in Seward, Alaska, requiring previous travel experience and an active AK RN license in hand.
Details
- Long Term Care (LTC) facility with 40 total staffed beds
- Patient ratio of 1:20
- Shift options: Days (3x12, 07:00–19:30) or Nights (3x12, 19:00–07:30) — shift assignment is based on facility needs at time of start; caregivers are not routinely asked to rotate between day and night shifts
- Travelers may choose between a 13-week or 26-week contract length
- Floating within scope to other facilities within the state is required; refusal to float may result in termination of assignment
- Block scheduling is not available
- No on-call requirements
- Charting system: ECS
- Free parking on site
Requirements
- Active Alaska (AK) RN license currently in hand — pending licenses are not accepted
- Current BLS certification required
- Previous travel nursing experience required — first-time travelers will not be considered
- Minimum 1 year of LTC nursing experience required
- Candidates must have a permanent address at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible
Additional Information
- All travelers are required to obtain the Alaska Food Worker Certification, which is completed during on-site orientation — this does not need to be obtained prior to the start date; a one-time $10 fee applies
- Former permanent staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a traveler and must reside more than 50 miles from the facility
- RTO is limited to no more than 2 weeks for a 26-week contract; all RTO requests must be submitted at the time of consideration and will not be honored if requested after an offer is made or contract is signed
- Traveler must be willing to work at least 2 of the 3 major winter holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's); preference is for availability on all holidays
- The facility arranges a vehicle for the traveler's use during the assignment for local transportation within a 30-mile radius — traveler must provide a valid driver's license and proof of insurance including rental car coverage
- Any color scrubs are acceptable
- Minimum of 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years in a comparable specialty or setting are required for consideration
- SSN and DOB are required for consideration
