Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele position in Rochester, NY, requiring Epic EMR proficiency, telemetry skills, and mandatory phlebotomy and IV placement competency.

Details

• 13-week travel contract in a hospital setting
• 14-bed overflow Med/Surg Tele unit housed within a GI Endoscopy flex space, designed to accommodate ED boarder patients
• Patient census may vary based on ED boarder volume and demand
• Day shift, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM)
• Every other weekend (EOW) coverage required
• Floating is required
• Epic EMR is required

Requirements

• Active NY RN license required (pending licenses not accepted)
• Current BLS certification required
• Minimum 1 year of Med/Surg Tele RN experience
• Mandatory competency in phlebotomy and peripheral IV placement
• Proficiency in telemetry interpretation and dysrhythmia management
• Skills required: use of Rapid Response/Code teams, peripheral line care and management, nasal cannula and oxygen administration, oxygen tank operation, non-invasive airway management, and isolation precautions
• Epic EMR experience required
• Candidates must reside more than 75 miles from the facility to be eligible

Additional Information

• Previous charge nurse experience is preferred
• Navy blue or white scrubs required
• Minimal time-off (RTO) requests preferred; all scheduling requests must be communicated upfront
• Block scheduling will be accommodated when possible but is not guaranteed
• Local candidates are not accepted; candidates must live more than 75 miles from the facility
• 2 professional supervisor references from within the past 2 years required for consideration
• Full 7-year work history with all gaps explained required for consideration
