Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced Med/Surg RN for a 13-week night shift travel contract requiring telemetry skills and Epic EMR experience.
Details
- Med/Surg unit in a hospital setting with 34 staffed beds
- Night shift schedule: 4x12-hour shifts, 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
- Standard patient ratio of 1:6, with potential flex to 1:7 in the event of unplanned staffing absences
- Every other weekend required
- PRN on-call required for low census situations
- Floating required within scope to meet facility needs, including like units and sister facilities
- Epic EMR used; experience required
- Royal blue scrubs required
- Free parking available
Requirements
- Active SC RN license or Compact RN license required; candidates with a pending SC license may be considered but must have an active license prior to start
- Current BLS certification (AHA only) required
- ACLS and NIHSS certifications preferred (AHA only)
- Minimum 2 years of Med/Surg RN experience preferred
- Telemetry and MS/Tele experience required
- Skills required: insulin administration, rapid response, and telemetry monitoring
- Epic EMR experience required
- SSN and valid driver's license required for consideration
- 2 professional supervisor references from within the past 2 years required for consideration
Additional Information
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Candidates must reside more than 60 miles from the facility to be eligible for travel rates; non-local candidates are prioritized
- Previous permanent or PRN staff at any MUSC location must have been separated from the system for at least 1 year before being eligible to work as a traveler
- All requested time off (RTO) must be disclosed at the time of consideration; approval is based on facility needs
- Onboarding modules are completed prior to start date
- During hurricane season (June–November), all employees and contractors may be assigned to emergency response duties; peak activity months are August and September
