Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced Inpatient Rehab RN for a 13-week travel contract in Ottumwa, IA, requiring a valid Iowa or Compact RN license and at least 1 year of acute care experience.
Details
- Inpatient acute rehabilitation unit within a regional health center
- 13-bed rehab unit serving an adult and geriatric patient population
- Common diagnoses and treatments include neuro, trauma, burn, gait training/strengthening, and wound vac
- Patient ratio of 1 RN to 6 patients
- Lift equipment is used on the unit
- EMR system is Meditech
- Day shift: 6:45 AM – 7:15 PM
- Every other weekend required
- No on-call responsibilities
- Floating to Med/Surg as needed
- 13-week contract
Requirements
- Active Iowa or Compact RN license required
- BLS certification required (AHA-issued)
- Minimum 1 year of acute care experience required
- At least 2 years of overall RN experience preferred
- Med/Surg, LTAC, or inpatient rehab background accepted
- Social Security number required for consideration
- Date of birth required for consideration
- Must reside more than 60 miles from the facility to qualify for this position
Additional Information
- Candidate must not have worked as permanent staff at any LifePoint facility within the last 12 months
- Candidates cannot be employed full-time elsewhere during this assignment
- Travel experience preferred but not required; first-time travelers will be considered
- Mandatory Reporter certification (Child and Adult) required as part of onboarding
- 10-panel drug screening including opiates required for onboarding
- Iowa State Investigative Network (SING) background check required — criminal and child abuse portions must clear; no instant or statewide searches accepted
- All background checks (counties and states) must be fully cleared prior to start
- Titers (MMR, Hep B, Varicella, TB) must be within the last 12 months
