Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Inpatient Rehab RN for a 13-week travel contract in Ottumwa, IA, requiring a valid Iowa or Compact RN license and at least 1 year of acute care experience.

Details

• Inpatient acute rehabilitation unit within a regional health center
• 13-bed rehab unit serving an adult and geriatric patient population
• Common diagnoses and treatments include neuro, trauma, burn, gait training/strengthening, and wound vac
• Patient ratio of 1 RN to 6 patients
• Lift equipment is used on the unit
• EMR system is Meditech
• Day shift: 6:45 AM – 7:15 PM
• Every other weekend required
• No on-call responsibilities
• Floating to Med/Surg as needed
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active Iowa or Compact RN license required
• BLS certification required (AHA-issued)
• Minimum 1 year of acute care experience required
• At least 2 years of overall RN experience preferred
• Med/Surg, LTAC, or inpatient rehab background accepted
• Social Security number required for consideration
• Date of birth required for consideration
• Must reside more than 60 miles from the facility to qualify for this position

Additional Information

• Candidate must not have worked as permanent staff at any LifePoint facility within the last 12 months
• Candidates cannot be employed full-time elsewhere during this assignment
• Travel experience preferred but not required; first-time travelers will be considered
• Mandatory Reporter certification (Child and Adult) required as part of onboarding
• 10-panel drug screening including opiates required for onboarding
• Iowa State Investigative Network (SING) background check required — criminal and child abuse portions must clear; no instant or statewide searches accepted
• All background checks (counties and states) must be fully cleared prior to start
• Titers (MMR, Hep B, Varicella, TB) must be within the last 12 months
