Description
American Traveler is hiring an Ultrasound Technologist for a freestanding emergency department setting, requiring ARDMS or ARRT(S) certification and a minimum of 2 years of experience.
Details
- Work setting is a freestanding emergency department (FSED) with 12 beds and no trauma designation
- Provides 24/7 on-site ultrasound services alongside X-ray and CT
- ED-only patient population with an average of 45 visits per day
- Department performs an average of 5 ultrasound studies per day
- Equipment includes Siemens Sequoia ultrasound systems and Trophon
- EMR is Epic with Epic Radiant RIS and Philips iSite PACS
- Schedule is three 12-hour day shifts per week, Monday through Wednesday, 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
- Night shift sonographers may float to support ultrasound needs at a second FSED location
- No on-call or weekend rotation requirements
- Travelers are expected to work 75% of holidays
Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of ultrasound experience required
- ARDMS or ARRT(S) certification required
- Current BLS required
- Active license required, if applicable
- Epic EMR experience required
- General ED ultrasound imaging skills required
- Permanent address must be located 50+ miles from the facility; local candidates are not accepted
- At least 1 professional reference dated within the past year from a Supervisor, Manager, Director, or Charge RN
- Last 4 digits of SSN and full date of birth required for consideration
Additional Information
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- In addition to ultrasound duties, staff are expected to assist with rooming patients, obtaining vital signs, line and lab tasks, and sitting with psych patients as needed
- May assist Diagnostic/CT staff with patient moving and transport during busy periods
- Additional skills including general vitals, sitter duties, and EKGs are expected; on-site training provided for these tasks
- Collaborative team environment with staff from other specialties and modalities
- Orientation includes 1 day of administrative onboarding (Epic, eLearnings, policy review) and up to 1 week of departmental orientation as needed
- Black scrubs required
- Free surface lot parking available on site
- Candidates who have worked a permanent position at an AHSE facility must have been separated for at least 1 year before being considered
