Description
American Traveler is hiring a Radiology Technologist for a General Radiology position requiring ARRT certification, an Illinois IEMA license, and Epic EMR experience at a Level 1 Trauma facility.
Details
- General Radiology department in an acute care hospital setting
- 4x10-hour day shifts, 40 hours per week
- No weekend or holiday shifts required
- Cross-modality imaging may be required within the department based on licenses held by the technologist
Requirements
- ARRT (R) certification required
- BLS (AHA) required
- Illinois IEMA Radiography License required; license required if applicable
- Associate's Degree in a related field or a Certificate in Radiologic Technology required
- Minimum 1 year of relevant Rad Tech experience
- Epic EMR experience required
- Level 1 Trauma experience required
- Proficiency in venipuncture, contrast administration, PACS data transfer, and image quality critique
- Ability to manage multiple tasks while coordinating patient flow and performing a variety of technical procedures independently
Additional Information
- Performs diagnostic radiographic procedures including acquiring and processing patient exams per department protocols and accrediting body guidelines
- Administers IV, oral, and rectal contrast as appropriate and monitors for adverse or allergic reactions
- Reviews radiology orders, patient history, and clinical data for completeness, accuracy, and medical necessity
- Transfers and verifies image data in PACS and utilizes web servers and email systems to send exams for after-hours preliminary readings
- Responsible for equipment maintenance, supply inventory, and workplace orderliness, including reporting service needs and safety events promptly
- May assist in the instruction of students and new staff, and may assume Lead or Imaging Coordinator duties in their absence
- Candidates must live more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible
- RTO not to exceed 7 total days per 13-week contract
- Contingent workers may not be on continuous assignment at this facility for more than 1 year; a 6-month break in service is required before returning
