Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Direct Observation Unit position in Louisville, KY, requiring a KY or compact RN license and ACLS certification for night shift coverage.

Details

  • Hospital-based Observation Unit setting with two units: a 32-bed ER Observation Unit and a 21-bed 5 South Observation Unit
  • Focuses on short-term patient care (approximately 23 hours) for patients arriving from the ER, with an emphasis on cardiac and neuro cases
  • 24/7 provider collaboration available on the unit
  • Night shift (3rd shift), 12-hour shifts
  • Schedule is 3 days per week, 36 hours per week

Requirements

  • Active, unrestricted RN license in Kentucky or a compact state currently in hand
  • Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
  • ADN or ASN required; BSN preferred
  • Ability to assess age-specific patient safety issues and implement appropriate safety measures
  • Proficiency or trainability in relevant computer systems and clinical applications

Additional Information

  • Responsibilities include comprehensive patient assessments, care planning, patient and family education, and coordination of admissions, transfers, and discharges
  • Care is delivered using evidence-based practice, critical thinking, and a holistic, patient-centered approach
  • RNs are expected to delegate appropriately, oversee team members, and actively participate in unit quality improvement initiatives
  • Candidate must provide MM/DD of date of birth and last 4 digits of SSN for consideration
