Description
American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) for a night shift travel assignment in the Respiratory Services department of a large Level II trauma center and Magnet-designated hospital in Asheville, NC.
Details
- 854-bed acute care hospital serving as the region's referral center, including a Level II trauma center, comprehensive stroke center, Level III NICU, and children's hospital with pediatric emergency services
- Respiratory Services department staffed by 15–20 RRTs on day shift and 12–16 RRTs on night shift for adult service lines, plus 3–4 RRTs per shift for NICU/Peds service lines
- Patient ratios range from 10 to 25
- Equipment includes GE R860 adult ventilators, Draeger infant/peds ventilators, Newport HT70 transport ventilator, V60 non-invasive device, Vapotherm, and Comfort Flow high-flow oxygen devices
- EMR: Cerner
- Night shift: 6:30 PM – 7:00 AM
- Floating required to all critical care units and floors
- At least 4 weekend shifts required per 6-week schedule
- 13-week contract
Requirements
- Active RRT credential (Registered Respiratory Therapist)
- Active North Carolina Respiratory Therapy license (license required if applicable)
- Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications (AHA or ARC accepted; certifications must not expire within the first 30 days of the assignment start)
- NRP required for RRTs caring for neonates
- Minimum 6 months of experience within the last 6 months in respiratory therapy
- No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
- US SSN and date of birth required for consideration
- Professional reference required (candidates from Florida or Missouri must provide two references)

- Provide respiratory therapy services across adult, pediatric, and neonatal patient populations

- Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility — local candidates are not eligible
