Description
American Traveler is hiring an Echo Technologist / Cardiac Sonographer at a Magnet-designated, Level 1 Trauma teaching hospital, requiring at least 1 year of experience and ARDMS or CCI cardiac sonography certification.
Details
- Work in an echo/cardiac sonography department at an 865-bed Magnet-designated, Level 1 Trauma teaching hospital
- Varying 5x8 hour day shifts from 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM
- Weekend requirement of 1–2 weekends per month (Saturday–Sunday, 8:00 AM–6:00 PM)
- Weekday on-call approximately 2–3 times per month; weekend on-call approximately 2 times every other month
- Daily caseload of 7–8 studies for 8-hour shifts or 8–10 studies for 10-hour shifts
- Charting via Epic
- Float to sister facilities may be required
Requirements
- Minimum of 1 year of echo/cardiac sonography experience
- ARDMS RVT/RDCS (AE) or CCI RCS/RVS certification required
- Current AHA BLS required
- Radiation badge required — candidate must supply their own radiation badge
- SSN and Driver's License required for consideration
- License required if applicable
- 2 professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years required for consideration
Additional Information
- First-time travelers are accepted for this position
- Previous permanent or PRN staff at any facility within this health system must have been separated for at least 1 year before being eligible to work as a traveler
- Candidates living within 60 miles of the facility are considered local; non-local candidates are prioritized
- All requested time off must be disclosed upfront, as approval is based on availability
- Orientation modules are completed prior to the start date
- Scrub color is navy blue
- Parking is free on days; a one-time $20 fee applies for a nights-and-weekends parking pass
- Travelers are assigned to emergency response teams and should be aware that hurricane season runs June through November, with peak activity in August and September
