Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced Charge Nurse RN for an Emergency Department position requiring prior charge, ED, and med/surg experience with an active WA or compact RN license.
Details
- Day shift schedule: 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM, 12-hour shifts
- Rotating days, with some weekend shifts possible
- Emergency Room and Med/Surg (Adult and Ortho) patient populations
- 13-week contract
Requirements
- Active WA state or compact RN license required
- Minimum 2 years of nursing experience required
- Previous experience in Med/Surg, Emergency Room, and Charge Nurse roles required
- Required certifications: BLS/BCLS, ACLS, and PALS
- Proof of COVID-19 vaccination required
Additional Information
- Serves as a frontline leader responsible for on-site nursing supervision, care standards implementation, and delegated administrative functions during the assigned shift
- Accountable for patient and family safety, staff oversight, and ensuring appropriate care delivery across the unit
- Expected to model professionalism, foster teamwork, and act as a change agent through mentorship, empowerment, and conflict resolution
- Strong communication, time management, organizational, and delegation skills are essential for success in this role
