Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg night shift travel position in Hawaii, requiring a minimum of 2 years of experience and an active Hawaii RN license.
Details
- Medical unit in a hospital setting with 77 beds
- Adult med/surg patient population
- Night shift position with variable shift lengths and days — flexibility is required
- Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:8 on nights (1:6 on days and evenings)
- 36-hour workweek following the first full week of orientation
- Meditech EMR used in the unit
- Equipment includes Pyxis medication dispensing, wound vac, and chest tubes
- May float to the Laulima Unit and Cardiovascular Unit
- 13-week contract
Requirements
- Active Hawaii (HI) RN license required by start of assignment; candidates without one must apply upon acceptance of offer
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
- Familiarity with Meditech EMR preferred
- Must be flexible with shift lengths and scheduling
Additional Information
- All travelers must report to Employee Health 48–72 hours prior to the start of the assignment; plan to arrive in Hawaii the Thursday before a Monday start date to attend the Employee Health appointment on Friday morning
- Proof of flu vaccination or a facility-approved medical/religious exemption is required prior to the contract start date; flu vaccination may be administered at the Employee Health clearance appointment
- Orientation is provided for each unit prior to independent practice
- Professional nursing attire required
