Description
American Traveler is hiring a travel Occupational Therapist with 2+ years of experience for a Level II Trauma Center in Bradenton, FL, serving both an inpatient rehabilitation facility and acute care hospital.
Details
- Work setting includes a 28-bed Inpatient Rehabilitation Facility (IRF) and a 383-bed acute care hospital with an average census of 240
- Therapy staff services the entire facility across Rehab Services
- Patient ratios are 4 patients/day on the IRF unit and 8–12 patients/day in acute care
- Day shift position, 7:00 AM – 5:30 PM
- Facility features two therapy gyms and an ADL apartment
- EMR system is Meditech
- Weekend flexibility is required, with a minimum of 1 weekend shift per month; increased weekend availability is highly preferred
- Holiday coverage required on a rotating basis with hospital employees
- 13-week contract
Requirements
- Active OT license required (license required if applicable)
- Minimum 2 years of OT experience, with active experience within the last 6 months
- Active BLS certification required (AHA or ARC accepted; must not expire within the first 30 days of assignment start)
- Weekend flexibility is required
- Willingness to work on the IRF unit is required
- Hospital and/or IRF experience is highly preferred
- Stroke/neuro experience is preferred
- Strong critical thinking and clinical reasoning skills
- US SSN and date of birth required for consideration — Canadian SSNs are not accepted
- Two professional references required (Florida requirement)
- Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible — no local candidates accepted
- No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
Additional Information
- Responsibilities include patient evaluation, treatment, and discharge planning
- Additional duties include team conferences, family training, and use of adaptive devices and equipment
- Ideal candidate is flexible, collaborative, and a strong team player
- 15 OTs currently on staff, including full-time, part-time, and PRN employees
- No night shift coverage required
