Description
American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with at least 2 years of experience and critical care background for a 13-week night shift contract at a 299-bed acute care hospital in Idaho.
Details
- Work in the Respiratory Therapy department of a 299-bed hospital with a 40-bed ED
- Critical care respiratory therapy patient population
- Equipment used includes Epic (EMR), V60 BiPAPs, 980 and 840 ventilators
- 12-hour night shifts on a 4x12 schedule (48 hours/week)
- Every other weekend required
- No on-call requirement
- Floating within the RT department only
- Candidates must live more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible; local candidates are not accepted
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Therapy program or U.S. military equivalent
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a Respiratory Therapist
- Critical care experience required
- NICU experience preferred but not required
- Credentialed as an RRT (Registered Respiratory Therapist)
- Current Idaho Respiratory Care Practitioner license required (license required if applicable)
- Current AHA BLS and AHA ACLS certifications required
- Experience with electronic charting; Epic experience beneficial
- Strong assessment, communication, and customer relations skills
- 2 supervisory/peer references required for consideration: 1 supervisor reference from within the last 12 months of relevant experience, and 1 peer or supervisor reference from the position's specialty within the last 3 years
Additional Information
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care from admission through discharge in support of respiratory, medical, and nursing care plans
- Collect and analyze sputum, blood, and breath specimens to assess oxygen, carbon dioxide, and other gas levels
- Measure lung capacity to identify impaired pulmonary function
- Monitor patient condition and ensure proper operation of specialized respiratory equipment
- General hospital orientation followed by a department-specific orientation with the unit educator
- Olive green scrubs required; available through the department
- Never works alone on shift
