Description
American Traveler is hiring a CT Technologist for a 12-hour day shift contract in Charleston, SC, requiring ARRT registration and at least 1 year of Radiologic Technologist experience.
Details
- Hospital-based CT department in Charleston, SC
- Monday through Wednesday, 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM (12-hour day shifts)
- 36 hours per week, 3 days per week
- 2–3 call shifts every 6 weeks, which may require floating to sister facilities nearby
- Charting via Cerner (experience preferred)
Requirements
- ARRT registration in Radiologic Technology required; ARRT registration in CT preferred
- Active SC or compact state license required (license required if applicable)
- Current AHA BLS certification required
- Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Radiologic Technologist preferred
- High school diploma or GED required; graduate of an accredited Allied Health or CT program preferred
- Ability to frequently stand, walk, and lift/move patients; must be able to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 lbs intermittently
- Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible
Additional Information
- Perform CT scans of designated anatomical areas under the medical supervision of certified radiologists, following established protocols
- Assist radiologists with procedures as needed and provide supervision and clinical education to student Radiologic Technologists
- Responsible for ensuring correct orders, diagnosis, and clinical history are entered into the computer system
- Instruct and prepare patients regarding imaging procedures, obtain informed consent as needed, and communicate discharge instructions to family members
- Adhere to radiation safety practices in accordance with ALARA principles and comply with DHEC, TJC, OSHA, and FDA standards
- Work environment involves frequent exposure to radiation, potential exposure to blood-borne pathogens, infectious materials, and intermittent exposure to toxic or caustic chemicals
- Travelers who have previously been on assignment at this facility may continue up to one calendar year from their initial start date; a 30–60 day break is required before returning to a new assignment
- 2 professional references are required for consideration
